I’m old enough to remember when Canada debated signing the free trade agreement with the U.S. in the 1980’s. For years leading up to its ratification we knew who the negotiators were, what kind of timelines were in place, what the contents were and we even held an election over it. Stephen Harper just signed a huge trade deal with the EU today and we’re just finding out about it now? We still don’t know the fine details and who knows when we ever will. I guess we’ll be seeing lower prices on BMWs and getting better qualities of cheeses soon, but at what cost? Where is the anti-American type of tirades against the sellout of Canadian sovereignty to the European Union?
