Editorial Cartoon by Graeme MacKay, The Hamilton Spectator Ð Saturday February 13, 2016 A crowded Ward 7 byelection race is officially underway and residents have no lack of would-be councillors to choose from. Twenty-two candidates Ñ the most in any one ward race since amalgamation Ñ are vying to replace Scott Duvall, who vacated his city council seat after becoming the new NDP federal representative for Hamilton Mountain. Nearly 40,000 ward residents are to cast votes on March 21 Ñ or at advance polls slated for March 10 and 12. The Spectator asked all candidates to provide information about themselves, their campaigns and a short pitch for why they deserve your vote. Here are your Ward 7 byelection candidates

A crowded Ward 7 byelection race is officially underway and residents have no lack of would-be councillors to choose from.

Twenty-two candidates — the most in any one ward race since amalgamation — are vying to replace Scott Duvall, who vacated his city council seat after becoming the new NDP federal representative for Hamilton Mountain.

Nearly 40,000 ward residents are to cast votes on March 21 — or at advance polls slated for March 10 and 12.

The Spectator asked all candidates to provide information about themselves, their campaigns and a short pitch for why they deserve your vote. They all have a lot more to say — and it’s worth noting most are easily found on Twitter or Facebook, too. (Source: Hamilton Spectator)

Please note…

This website contains satirical commentaries of current events going back several decades. Some readers may not share this sense of humour nor the opinions expressed by the artist. To understand editorial cartoons it is important to understand their effectiveness as a counterweight to power. It is presumed readers approach satire with a broad minded foundation and healthy knowledge of objective facts of the subjects depicted.
