The Ontario NDP will launch its first ever pre-election advertising blitz tomorrow as the province gears up for a vote expected as early as May.

Following on the heels of the governing Conservatives and the Liberals, the New Democrats are hitting the airwaves with slickly produced commercials designed to familiarize the public with leader Howard Hampton.

“There’s a lot of spin out there and a lot of promises being made, but at the end of the day, who will stand by their word? Do you want spin or substance?” intones a female announcer as a red top and a blue one spin out of control against a white background.

Mr. Hampton then appears on-screen, talking directly into the camera. (Source: Hamilton Spectator)
